Who is Eligible?

Medicare is one of the most inclusive health insurance policies you can get. There’s no health exam or increasing rates due to your current physical condition. If you’re eligible, you can’t get turned away.

If you are 65 or older or you have been receiving disability benefits for 24 months, you can get Medicare.

Who Qualifies for Automatic Enrollment?

If you are getting benefits through Social Security or the Railroad Retirement Board, your enrollment is automatic.

If you receive Social Security or Railroad Retirement Board benefits, you are automatically enrolled three months before you turn 65. You will get a red, white, and blue card in the mail at this time.

If you have been getting disability benefits, age is not a factor. The number of months you have been receiving benefits matters. Once you’ve been getting those benefits for 24 months, you’ll automatically receive your Medicare card in the mail.

What Does Part B Make You Eligible for?

Medicare Part B is needed for enrollment in multiple plans related to Medicare. You need Part B if you wish to be eligible for a Medicare Supplement or Medicare Advantage plan. You can be enrolled in Part A and/or Part B to be eligible for Medicare Part D.
